Burgers and other typical Canadian/American foods are so boring. Gotta branch out man. I'm a white guy who grew up on burgers and fries, but in the last 5 years i have worked as a delivery guy working all across the GTA so i have been exposed to a wider variety of places. The great thing is we live in such a diverse city where you have every other kind of food known to man all within reach. There are so many good indian and caribbean restaurants across the GTA. Give me some Roti or Jerk Chicken, or a good Shawarma over a burger any day. Or if chicken is your thing have some Portuguese churrasqueira instead of typical boring Swis Chalet. There is so much more flavour in the foods of other cultures. Since opening my eyes to that stuff i haven't eaten in a greasy burger joint in over 5 years.
Here's a list of some of my favs:
Alberts Real Jamaican: 542 St. Clair Avenue West at Vaughan
Willys Jerk: Jane & Wilson (in North York Sheridan Mall, just watch your back in this area! lol)
Karaikudi South Indian Cuisine: 1225 Kennedy Road (awesome $10 all you can eat buffets)
The Real Jerk: 709 Queen Street West at Broadview (just closed but reopening in a new location soon)
Ali Baba's: Various locations all over the city
Churrasquiera BBQ & Grill: 1176 The Queensway (near Islington)
Buddha's Vegetarian Kitchen: 666 Dundas Street West (yeah, veggies are good too!)
ok i will throw a couple more typical canadian food places, just because they're good....
New Toronto Fish & Chips (aka 5th Street Fish & Chips): 146 Fifth Street near islington/lakeshore
5 Guys Burgers & Fries: 2150 Burnhamthorpe Road West Mississauga (make a good veggie sandwich if you are vegetarian)
