I was the instructor and I am sorry if I pulled up short on you....it wasnt something I would normally do but it was so unexpected to see the person that said he was going to go slow go off in front of me on his first turn....my fault. I have gone out with many people and never had this happen before.

Glad to hear that your friend was okay....that was really scary. someone almost followed him right into the wall.

I don't think it was you as the bike that ran wide was the blue/pink gixxer which I believe is ridden by a girl?

Really? Didn't know someone else almost went off behind my friend as well...that could have been really bad!

Had a great track day on Sunday Id like to thank Drew who was parked next to me. He was a great help all day. I left early Iwas tired from the night before. I seen alot of ppl taking pics anyone post any up?

No (Valentino Rossi) the kid that got hurt was on the white bike... he basically t-bone me, I didn't know it was coming but got lucky and walked away from the hit minus some serious damage to bike and equipment. There was somebody behind him with a camera and I had a camera on my bike facing forward... As soon as I get the video from behind I'll put them both together and post the video.

I feel really bad that he got hurt but he was riding way past his skill level...

The crash at the end of monday looked pretty bad. Its never good when the ambulance has to be called. I really hope the guy is alright, he was pitted beside us with the white 07 CBR 1000RR. Apparently it was only his 2nd track day. He already crashed once earlier in the day before lunch sighting all the regular excuses. Crashing always sucks, we've all been there, but then its time to re-think your strategy. Either way his clutch lever was busted from the first crash, only having about 2 inches of grabbable area on it. Unfortuantely I didn't have a spare clutch lever to lend from my 08. We suggested an angled 1/8" bolt, or at least a nub with hockey tape to give some extra grip/leverage, but he declined. Would like to see the video of what happened. I hope there were no serious injuries and everyone is ok.

Wow I missed all the action! Not that I want to see people crash, I hope he's alright. I was on the other side of you guys I think (black and white gsxr and 09 R1). We left a little early, we were tired and I'm still injured from a mishap last weekend. Had a great day (minus the one sketchy pass I recieved and saw the same guy do it to a few people) and thought everything went smooth.

First full day on the new bike for me and wholly jebus was it a handful! I tried following r1guy into corner two and thought I was going to poop myself, the videos do no justice. I got about 1.5 seconds off my fastest time on my 600 but still have a long way to go before I'll actually be comfortable (injury free might have sped this up a bit).

I didn't think the weather would hold and it looks like I missed some good track time.

I personally like GWB's no-nonsense attitude. It's up to the riders as much as the organizers to voice things though. Marshalls can't see everything all the time. Not sure who was marshalling this time, but last time it was a couple of teenagers who spent more time looking bored and sitting on their phones than watching the track. That's not a GWB problem, that's a TMP problem and I let them know!

THATS AWEFULL.. That kid was fast on straights but a bit outa control obviously. At 2;30 I had to do a grassrun off turn 1 to avoid connecting with him on exit because of a terrible multitude of passes he made and his unimagineable exit line.
I talked to him right after and told him he was gona get hurt on that thing..
I packed it up and left right after that. I had family dinner anyways.
We saw that coming eh Mike? Thats crappy he hit someone else though.

Yeah when I was behind him looking for an opening to pass I really left him some room for error (on his part) because he was just so all over the place with his lines and seemed to be on the ragged edge every lap. Once I passed I thought everything would be fine because I was running faster laps then him. That being said he did have the faster bike down any straight so even tho I got in front 4 corners prior to the crash he had the speed... speed that he couldn't control.

It's important for those that have concerns to voice their problems that day to an organizer, not the next day on the internet as by then it's to late to fix it.
You can only fix a problem that you are aware of.

Power wheelies are not an issue - 5 foot high ones are and I did not see any.

I was pitted next that that kid and his friend, (I had the Ducati pop up and blue and white SV650) he was looking out of control the whole day. I had packed up and gone just prior to that going down I guess, I left around 3:30. It really sucks that he took someone else out with him though. Glad to hear you were not hurt.

Great day, again the Hyosung GT650 did the job better then expected. I as quite happy to finely be able to put knee pucks down on just about every turn on the track when I wanted to. Once I hit that point yesterday I was very happy and decided to not push any more luck.

I was about 1/2 a lap behind the crash with R1Guy in it, saw the marshal scrambling for a flag and it was red. that was unusual as usually its yellow first, so slowed down saw the crash sight. thought it was R1Guy under his own bike but ended up being the other Kid.

Besides this crash it was a absolute amazing day for me and the GF (we shared the bike hence why a hyosung was in advanced group).

That bike took YOU for a trackday, not the other way around. lol.
Pull a plugwire off that thing and youll probly do a better laptime.
I checked my timer and you were consistant 1.20--1.21s

lol it was a blast. I was hamfisting it and grinning from ear to ear. I was injured so I was just out there playing with power, it hurt my knee to have my pad press on it so I couldn't get great body position. 1:20 were my times from my 600 so it didn't slow me down. This bike has more potential than I do but atleast I can't say I need more hp:).....or any other parts really.

Crap! I didn't see Rossi there! I woulda got his autograph!

Looks like I missed on some late day action. Hope you are ok, Mike.

Glad you guys had a great time.

For me, it was a comedy of errors and shenanigans.

Of the few trackdays I've done so far, this had to be my worst! For whatever reason, I didn't want to get out of bed that morning, but forced myself too, cause the weather was so nice and wanted to take advantage of one last track day this season.

Then half way to the track, I realized that I forgot my under armour garments, and my lawn chair.

Then I had to pull over as my bike nearly tipped over as one of the straps came undone.

Then I was late for the riders meeting and had to wait another hour before I could hit the track.

Then when I do go on, I mistakenly enter the advanced session. I was wondering why everyone was passing me like I was standing still. I thought, jeez..."for the green group", these guys are pretty fast. LOLOL.

Then I had a getoff on Turn 2. Totally rider error. Just couldn't concentrate fully, and wasn't getting the butt off the seat and attacking the corners like I know I could.

Near the end of the day, when I went to suit up for a late aft session, the zipper on my suit broke and thats when I realized this trackday was a write off for me and I would be better off staying home.

Oh well, see you all next season. :)

I dont get people being miffed about wheelies, during a normal race pace lap for me the front wheel comes up 3 or 4 times....it happens. As long as no one is clutching it up down the straight, who cares?

Like Donald said, power wheelies are fine, but obvious high stunt wheelies are not. A few years ago one dude did a show off wheelie and looped it, spilling oil all down the straight, ending the day... I think that's partly why. I wish my bike would do power wheelies. I don't have to worry about getting black flagged for that.
